Sunday 3rd September 2017 - Bible verse:
2 Cor 5:17 and Romans 12:2 New Life by Karen Cowling

“This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun!” 2 Corinthians 5:17 (NLT)

“Don’t copy the behaviour and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.” Romans 12:2 (NLT)

When we make the decision to follow Jesus and allow him to be in charge of our lives, God says that we are no longer the same; we are a new person. Our old life has gone and a new one has began.

This doesn't mean that God all of a sudden transports us out of all our old ways and problems but instead He helps us to see them in a different way. In Romans, Paul writes how now we are new, God wants us to look to him and allow Him to change the way we think. We will no longer see problems as the world does, but see them through God's eyes and know that we are no longer facing them alone!

So today, stop and pray:

Father God, thank you for giving me a new life in Jesus. Please help me to allow you to change the way I think so that I no longer think and act as I did in my old life. I ask this in Jesus name. Amen.
