"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved." (John 3:16 - 17 KJV)

'Man Shall not live by Bread alone, But by every Word of God' Luke 4:4

Two kinds of food for two kinds of Life. We are flesh and we are Spirit.

Close your eyes and imagine someone who is starving. Gaunt cheeks, bulging eyes, stick like limbs, knobbly joints, protruding ribcage. It is not a pleasant image, and one we are very unfomfortable with. We instinctively look away. A person in that predicament has been robbed of their dignity and their health, and is staring death in the face.

That is what we see with the eyes of our body, but what does the eyes of our spirit see ? Do we see the malnourished starving spirit deprived of the Word of God ? Does the emaciated spirit cause us as much sorrow as the emaciated body ? If we fail to see it, God does not. he looks upon those who allow themselves to be robbed of his Word, and is filled with sorrow at their starving spirits. Those who are starving physically are not at fault, For if sustenance were available, they would surely take it. How sad then that the Word of God is readily available to those that desparately need it's sustenance, yet they choose not to avail themselves of it, and instead their spirits slowly starve.

Oh, Taste and see that the Lord is Good; Blessed is the man who trusts in Him ! Psalm 34:8
