So what should be the result of the grace, mercy, love and faith that we receive from God? How can we use these gifts? Romans 12 sums it up. We should all take these gifts and '...in view of God's mercy offer our bodies as living sacrifices holy and pleasing to God - this is your spiritual act of worship'
Paul goes on to say how now we are saved through Christ into the body of the church we need to take all the gifts God has given us and use them to live as a living sacrifice. The gifts God has given us are to further the kingdom on earth, they were never designed to be held on to and kept just for us to enjoy, they are to share with those around us.
So Paul writes in verse 2 'Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world...' the pattern being one that cries: 'Me, me it's all about me!' and 'I need to look after number 1!' 'But be transformed by the renewing of your mind...' and so remember everything you have is not your own but for the body of Christ and for God's kingdom. '...then you will know his will, his pleasing and perfect will'
Romans 12 continues to then talk about how to show love and mercy to those around us, even those who are our enemies and persecute us. God will always give you the anointing to be able to use your gifts and help you love and show mercy to those around you.
So today in view of God's mercy and through your faith in Jesus and the grace and love shown to you while you were still an enemy of God, live your life as a living sacrifice, giving all you have received back to God and asking him what it is He wants you to do.
