And so we reach the end of our journey through the Psalms, the hymnbook of the Bible. What a journey it has been!
We have been with the psalmists to the highest of heights, and the depths of despair. We have sat with them on mountain tops and cowered in caves. We have read of Godís mighty deeds, his compassion, his unfailing love and his mercy.
We have also read of his righteousness, and his judgment and his mercy. The Psalms have shown us every aspect of the character of God, and every facet of our relationship with him.
At the end of it all is this simple psalm of praise. All the complexities of life, and all the complexities of our relationships and our struggles and our longings boil down to this: let us praise God for he alone is worthy of praise.
Unlike many of the other praise psalms, this psalm does not give a list of reasons to praise God. Itís a given. God is worthy of praise, so let us praise him in every way available to us and make a noisy celebration of praise, unashamed and unconstrained.
If you have breath in your body then praise God today and always!
Meditation verse: Let everything that has breath praise the Lord. Praise the Lord!
