“Therefore, putting aside all malice and all deceit and hypocrisy and envy and all slander; like new-born babies, long for the pure milk of (God’s) word, so that by it you may grow in respect to salvation.” 1 Peter 2:1-3 (NASV)
Yesterday we read how God changes our mind to be less like our old way of thinking and more like the way God wants us to think. However God does not just want us to be passive robots, but instead he wants us to be active in our new lives. God wants us to start to get rid of all the bad things we may have got into a habit of doing, as He changes our way of thinking.
We need to look at our lives and think about how we can remove the bad things, for example: When I came to know Jesus I used to swear; probably every other word. My friend challenged me on this and I spent the best part of an hour not saying anything because it was so hard not to swear. The little I did, God took and used it to change my way of thinking and the way I spoke.
You may have a different thing that God wants you to change, and he will help you! You just have to make the first move.
Lord Jesus, Thank you that you love me so much that you want me to know more of you. Please help me to change the wrong things in my life so that I can become more like you. I ask this in your name Jesus. Amen
