"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved." (John 3:16 - 17 KJV)

Bringing Care
to the Community

Did you Know ... ?

... that Newbold Baptist Church was running a Community Project right on your doorstep here in Newbold ?

Well, here's some information on what's going on at the moment. Please have a read through - you might find something of interest to you !

What We Look To Do

  • To run a variety of activities that are useful to local people (like you)

  •

What We're Not Looking To Do

  • To bash you with a Bible (please don't get nervous just because we're a Church Project !)

  •

Why We Do What We Do !

We at the Church, believe in reaching out to the community in a practical way to show God's love. For God so loved the world... that He did something !
So we're doing what the Bible recomends:
"Let's not love with words but with actions and in truth." 1 John 3: 18
"Faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead." James 2: 17

    Volunteer Workgroups

The general idea here is to get together small groups of people to do useful ‘odd-jobs’ for those who might need the helping hands.

  • Have you got a few hours to spare each week?
  • Do you want to learn some new skills?
  • Do you need help with getting a job or references, etc.?

  •

OR   Do you just want to get out of the house, meet new people, have some fun, and at the same time put something back into your local community?

THEN  come and join our ‘Volunteer Work Group’ which has been set up to help people on Newbold with simple jobs around the home and garden who can’t do the work for themselves.

You will be able to work alongside people with the relevant skills and will even get a free lunch where appropriate!

If you know of some older people, or others, who need some help with jobs around the home or garden then please let us know.

Interested?   Telephone 01706 358662 or visit us at Newbold Baptist Church, on Milnrow Road, Newbold, Rochdale.

The course, titled ‘Survival Skills for Families’ is aimed at helping develop skills for at home with your children and will be discussion based, with advice a bit like you might have seen on TV. Some useful tips and a chance to off-load will definitely be available.

Please contact us to book your place - it’s first come, first served for this one. For information on our next course, again please contact us.

Please do feel free to come along to any of the activities you have read about, or perhaps to a Sunday Service (10.30am or 6pm).
